Validation Overview

Validation progresses through stages:

1. unit tests
2. synthetic engineering checks
3. PCam federated smoke tests
4. PCam benchmarks
5. Camelyon17 validation
6. real multi-center validation

Important distinction:

PCam validation uses real pathology patches but simulated sites. This is not equivalent to true multi-center validation.
